Last summer I started a new adventure and moved to Northeast Ohio. Since moving here I have enjoyed exploring everything Northeast Ohio has to offer and a few weeks ago I spent a girls day in Cleveland with two of my blogger (and IRL) friends, Amanda from Blissful Gal and Alison from Alison’s 5 Things. From gawking over beautiful jewelry to visiting the local aquarium, our girls day in Cleveland was a blast. There really is so much to do and also so many great places to shop.
Alson Jewelers Bloggers and Bellinis Event
Our first stop of the day was the Bloggers and Bellinis event at Alson Jewelers to preview the new Ippolita collection. The Ippolita rep at the event taught us some great jewelry tricks, which I will definitely have to share with you all someday, and we took a style quiz to see what type of jewelry fits our personality the best. Surprise, surprise, I was a classicist (I wasn’t actually surprised). Amanda and Alison were classicists also, so I guess you can say we are meant to be friends 💁🏼 I also enjoyed walking around the store and seeing all of the jewelry Alson’s has to offer!
Our next stop needed to involve food because we were all getting a little hangry. We knew we were going to go shopping at Legacy Village, so Cheesecake Factory was automatically ruled into favor. I almost got a California omelet, but I ended up getting the same thing I always get, the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad because I love it so much. Although, Ali got some amazing waffles that smelled delicious so I just might have to try those sometime!
This wasn’t my first time at Legacy Village, but I am always down for shopping. Legacy Village is definitely one of the best places to shop in the Cleveland area and I love the outdoor setting. Our first stop was at Charming Charlie where I picked up my new boho hat and cute layering necklace. The Charming Charley is at Legacy Village is one of the best in my opinion because the store is so big! They had so much more things at that store that they didn’t have at my local store in Canton. And of course, we also went to Nordstrom Rack, which is one of only two in Northeast Ohio. Although I can sometimes I get a little overwhelmed because there is so much stuff, I love Nordstrom Rack and the bargains you can find! I ended up getting this lace babydoll top, which was perfect for my trip to Nashville.
Since we were in the Cleveland Area, Amanda reached out to her friend at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and hooked us up with free tickets for the day. The aquarium is located in downtown Cleveland at the Flats, which is right along the river. I have always loved going to aquariums because I love all types of animals, so I was super pumped about visiting. My favorite thing about the aquarium was the big window and tunnel where you can stand and watch the sharks swim by. The shark tank is HUGE and was definitely a sight worth seeing!
I really enjoyed my time at the aquarium because it was less crowded than the other aquariums I have been to in big cities. It would definitely be a great place to take your family if you want to avoid the crowds. The aquarium staff was also throughout the entire exhibit and was very knowledgeable about all of the creatures. There were also a lot of touch and feel stations, which is a great way to teach both kids and adults a little more about how to interact with sea life. If you are looking for a fun and family-friendly weekend activity or even a place to just check out with your friends, you should take a day out of your weekend and check out the Greater Cleveland Aquarium.
