All the way back in January (how is that we are already six months into 2017?!), I wrote a post about my goals for the new year. I feel that June is the perfect time to check-in with all of my readers and let you know how my goals are going. So far, this year has been pretty great as far as sticking to my personal goals. Between fitness, health, and blogging, 2017 has been one of the best so far.
Goals 1 & 2: Start BBG and/or a workout routine, go to the gym at least three times a week after work
In January I joined a new gym and my workout game has been improving ever since. I started going to the gym at least three times a week (more like four or five times a week if I can) and I started attending a workout class called PumpRx. PumpRx is a weight lifting aerobics class my gym offers and I absolutely love it! I work out on my own Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and go to class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Since I started, I haven’t lost much weight, but I have lost inches all over my body! I am stronger and have more energy. I am physically feeling the best I have felt in a very long time.
Goal 3: Aside from teaching weekly skating lessons, skate twice a month for myself
Every Wednesday after work I teach figure skating lessons at my local ice arena. One of my goals was to go skating twice a month for myself. I have been skating with friends a few times, but other than that I haven’t skated on my own or practiced any skills. So I haven’t come close to reaching this goal yet.
Goal 4: Eat well and eat less junk, no stress eating
My diet has really changed since I made this goal. I have made more of an effort to eat healthier than I used to. I try to pack my lunch for work and meal prep at the beginning of each week. It doesn’t always go as planned and I still eat out sometimes for lunch, but I have really put more effort into not eating out. I pack a lot of fruits and veggies and have resorted to high protein smoothies in the morning instead of carbs. I have been trying to eat less and less carbs and replacing carbs with veggies. I still have a lot to work on for this goal, but I am off to a great start so far this year.
Goals 5 & 7: Be productive and don’t procrastinate, plan ahead with my new Passion Planner
This is a goal that I will always continue to work on. I have found that planning ahead with my Passion Planner has really helped me work toward this goal. It keeps me on track and helps me prioritize my week. I am still working on prioritizing tasks and time management at work, but so far I feel like my planner has really helped me organize my life.
Goal 6: Publish at least one blog post per week
I haven’t exactly published one blog post per week, but I have been blogging a lot more and producing more fashion content. Thanks to one of my great friends, Lauren Shultis, I have been able to take more professional outfit photos and post more looks. I did my first brand collaboration with Tobi and posted three great outfit ideas for spring (here, here, and here) and also added a shop tab to my blog where you can shop my Instagram and other picks. My blog has really grown in the last six months and I am hoping to continue that growth before the end of this year!
