My Workout Routine

My Current Workout Routine

Happy hump day, y’all! I’ve received requests from a few of you to share my workout routine. For the last year, I have been working hard to make working out part of my daily schedule and getting back into shape. I typically exercise four or five days a week depending on my weekly schedule and do a combination of cardio, weightlifting, and strength training.

Every week looks slightly different due to events and other things coming up, but for the most part here is my workout routine. I am by no means an expert, but I have had a lot of people ask about my workout routine. I hope this helps give you some ideas and inspiration!


I start my workout with a 20-30 minute cardio session – either on the elliptical, treadmill, or stationary bike. After warming up, I head over to the open exercise space and set up any equipment I need for Kayla Itsines’s BBG program. Mondays are leg day so I will set up and bench and grab a medicine ball to complete the leg workouts. Occasionally I will use the machines instead of doing BBG, but for the most part, I like to stick to BBG.


I start my workout with a 20-30 minute cardio session and then either go to my gym’s PumpRx class, which is a barbell class using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, or the TreadRx class, which is a treadmill intervals class. If I go to the PumpRx class I usually do my cardio session on the elliptical or treadmill, and if I do the TreadRx class I will do a warm up on the stationary bike. I used to go to my PumpRx class every single Tuesday and Thursday, but now that I found the TreadRx class I try to mix it up. I am not much of a runner, but I do like the TreadRx class because it is coached by a trainer and done in intervals, so I find it to be easier and more fun than just running on my own.


On Wednesdays, I teach skating lessons after work so I can’t make it to the gym. But when I am teaching skating lessons, I am typically moving around on the ice and moving with the skaters.


My Thursdays are usually the same as my Tuesdays.


Friday is usually the day I don’t go to the gym because I have plans with Corey or friends. Since I am so good about going the rest of the week, I usually don’t mind having the night off. If I don’t make any plans, I will hit up the gym to do a quick 30-minute cardio session.


I also teach skating lessons on Saturdays and hit the gym before or after lessons. If I got before skating, I go to PumpRx or if I go after, I do a 20-30 minute cardio session and the BBG full body workout (usually done on Fridays in the BBG booklet).


Sundays are my rest day or I do an at home yoga/stretching session. It feels nice just to stretch so I take this easy day to stretch all of my muscles and prepare for the week ahead.

As you can tell from my photos, I definitely do not try to match my apparel brands. I typically buy active gear that is on sale or if I have a gift card. Most of the time I get gear from TjMaxx or Marshalls!

    Love your workout gear…I also look for deals at Marshalls and TJ Maxx and don’t bother with matching my pieces:)

      Thank you! Yes, I don’t bother spending a ton on workout clothes and most of the time they have all of the nice brands! 😊

    I’ve been mixing in BBG! I did leg day this Monday and couldn’t walk properly till Wednesday haha! Sounds like a great routine.

      I felt that way the first time I did BBG! It gets better. You will still be sore after each work out but you will be able to walk 😜
